I usually shoot in the morning when the weather is a little cooler, but Margot’s timetable would only allow for an afternoon session - so we cranked up the air conditioning and the floor fans and got down to work.
Margot was a natural in front of the camera, and it wasn’t long before she was really enjoying stretching out on the rug and really showing off her curves in a stylish bodysuit that she had bought especially for her photo session.
This was a wonderful opportunity for me to work with available light in an area of the that I often have to supplement with studio lighting. Working this way provided a natural look to the images as well as the body shaping contrast that I really like in my boudoir portraits. It also meant that Margot could enjoy her photoshoot with less distractions around her, allowing for a more relaxed session.
Margot had hair to die for, and we made a point of really showing it off in her photos. Loving to dance in her spare time, she had no problem following directions to point her toes, or to bend her body into painful positions whilst keeping a smile on her face :-)
The end result: A series of photos that Margot loved:
“I can’t believe it - The photos are gorgeous. I am blown away!”
As a photographer - what more could I ask for? A client that is moved emotionally by the images that we create together; Something that makes them feel just a little bit better about themselves than they did when they walked into the studio.
Can you think of a better way to boost your self-confidence?
“I’d wanted to do a boudoir shoot for a long time. I even got as far as booking a shoot a few months ago, but cancelled at the last minute. But something in the back of my mind kept nagging at me until finally I plucked up the courage to go through with it.
I am so glad that I did!”
